TCA's College Advisor
Secondary Spanish Teacher
Mrs. Mondoy has a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with a Minor in Spanish. She began teaching at TCA in 1999. When her oldest daughter was a junior at TCA, she began researching about college admission requirements, scholarships, etc. She attends conferences that gave her a deeper understanding of the vast information needed for students to succeed after high school. She knew that many students at TCA would benefit from this information. In 2000, she became TCA's College Advisor.
Currently, she has two class periods each day for College Advising. Every year, she meets twice with each senior and once with each junior. During the meetings, she discusses college choices, areas of study that interest them, scholarship opportunities and other valuable information that allows the students to feel fully prepared for college. Also, she oversees the administration of the PSAT and the PLAN test. The students get to participate in two planned college days during their junior year. The students are encouraged to go to Mrs. Mondoy anytime a question or concern arises about college preparation. |
