Varsity Baseball Finished District Undefeated & Ranked #2 in State

With 2 wins against #7 Denton Calvary and #8 Watauga Harvest Christian the TCA Eagles finished the season as the undefeated Division IV, District I Champs and are ranked #2 in the state for TAPPS 3A - Division IV.

On Tuesday, the Eagles defeated #8 Watauga Harvest Christian 12-0 as Calib Guynes and Caleb Chesney combined to throw a shutout. Guynes pitched four innings, recorded seven strikeouts and gave up only one hit. Chesney pitched one inning giving up no hits and recording one strikeout. TCA secured the victory thanks to seven runs in the fifth inning off singles by Jacob Sherman, Preston Gist, Baylor White, Gage Scott, Cade Gist, Kayden Kelley and Guynes in additional to a triple by Tito Gabaldon. The team collected a total of 15 hits and three players stole at least two bases. 

The Eagles recorded their 12th district win over #7 Denton Calvary by a score of 11-3 on Thursday. TCA had a big fifth inning when they scored six runs off six walks and a couple of hits. The Eagles collected a total of seven hits, with Gabaldon and Chesney both collecting two hits each. Riley Dean pitched 4.1 innings recording three strikeouts and allowing only one run. Preston Gist finished off the game by pitching 2.2 innings and recording two strikeouts and giving up only two earned runs.

Trinity Christian earned a bye for the first round of the TAPPS 3A baseball playoffs.
