Trinity Christian Academy provides several opportunities for students in grades Pre-K through 12 to participate in the Creative Arts programs. We understand the importance of artistic expression and desire that TCA students learn how to do so in a God honoring manner. Below is a list of opportunities available to all students:
Pre-K Christmas Performance
Kindergarten and 1st Grade Easter Musical
2nd through 5th Grade Christmas Musical
Middle School Art: A weekly course with 7th and 8th graders working with through a variety of mediums.
High School Art: A course that includes a study of Art History and experience in working with several mediums. This course counts towards the Fine Arts requirement for graduation.
Middle School Choir: MS Choir is a weekly course, introducing students to choral literature, part-singing, and proper singing technique. It also helps students prepare for performances throughout the year.
High School Praise Team: A class that prepares students to lead the secondary campus in weekly chapel praise and worship. Students must audition in the spring. This course counts towards the Fine Arts requirement for graduation.
Creative Writing: The course in Creative Writing leads students through writing in several different styles and genres and has students participate with others in reviewing and critiquing work done in class. This course counts towards the Fine Arts requirement for graduation.
Drumline: TCA Drumline is a 1st Hour Fine Arts Elective for Fall and Spring semesters for 9th-12th grade students. No experience required; all skill levels are welcomed! Being able to read music is recommended but not required. All practices are conducted during school hours. After-school commitments include all football games (home & away), 2-3 home Varsity volleyball games, 2-3 home Varsity basketball games (both Boys and Girls team). Being a TCA Spirit organization, we play at all TCA Pep Rallies, the TCA Homecoming Parade, TCA Preview Events, and community events sponsored by TCA.
Theater: Students are trained in teamwork, relaxation, concentration, movement, voice, play analysis, acting, improvisation, character analysis, performance, scene work, monologues, audition/interview skills, theatre vocabulary, and theatre history. This course counts towards the Fine Arts requirement for graduation.
High School Yearbook: Student work to capture the entire school year within a single book. There are opportunities for photography, layout design and writing. This course counts towards the Fine Arts requirement for graduation.
Fall Play: High School students have the opportunity to audition for a fall play, generally performed in November of each school year.
Spring Musical: High School students also have the opportunity to audition for a spring musical. Previous years’ musicals include:
